Inland Waterfront Destination Slated for Miramar

by Mike Boyd

Sunbeam and Stiles are building what they say is the first inland waterfront destination in South Florida. Miramar Cove officially broke ground on May 27 in Miramar. Nearly one-third of the 125-acre site is dedicated to water, including fountain shows and a cove filled with translucent blue water surrounded by walkways, restaurants, and gathering spaces. The project’s costs could reach $1 billion.

At full build-out, Miramar Cove will deliver 2,874 contemporary-style homes, 400,000 square feet of retail space with a 35,000-square-foot grocer, 125,000 square feet of Class A office, and a 185-key hotel.

The waterfront will serve as the heart of the region, with dining, entertainment, and gathering spaces oriented around water and programmed for daily and evening activation. The translucent blue water at the heart of the development is a Blue Mar Basin, a proprietary system by Martin Aquatic.

A grand opening is targeted for Q4 2028.
